Petrophile Leaf Earrings
  • Petrophile Leaf Earrings

Petrophile (Pe-trof-i-lee) macrostachya is an iconic plant of the Northern Sandplains region in Western Australia belonging to the Proteaceae family. They boast bright, terminal yellow flowers, and leaves that have such an interesting arrangement as well as shape. Check out the last image to see what they look like!!

I am SO excited to bring my botany life into my art life!!!

These earrings are modelled from real Petrophile leaves, which were dried and pressed, and then a silicon mold was made of them. This mold is then filled with wax, which was sent off for casting via the investment casting process.

Created in solid, recycled sterling silver.

These babies have been blackened with patina and polished back to accentuate the venation in the leaf.

Measuring 4 cm in length and 3.2 cm in width. Each charm weighs 6.7 g, not too heavy for their size (they’re quite thin!)

Please note these are a Made to Order option, please allow up to 5 weeks for completion as I have to send off the wax molds! Each one may look slightly different due to the handmade nature of the pieces.

      $350.00Price
Please allow up to 4 weeks for these to be made and sent out!
